Diane N.Roche, Ph.D.

Clinical Psychologist

Diane N. Roche, Ph.D. is a licensed psychologist who assesses and treats adults, adolescents, children, couples, and families. Dr. Roche received her doctorate in clinical psychology, with a specialization in lifespan developmental psychology, from the University of Victoria in British Columbia, Canada. She completed a pre-doctoral internship in clinical psychology in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Baylor College of Medicine and completed a post-doctoral fellowship in clinical psychology at the Houston Psychotherapy Institute.

Currently, Dr. Roche holds a faculty appointment in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Baylor College of Medicine, where she participates in the education and supervision of clinical psychology interns. She has worked in outpatient, school, residential, and inpatient settings, and has over thirteen years of clinical experience working with individuals, groups, and families (ages 4 to adult) who have a wide range of presenting problems. Prior to joining the Tarnow Center for Self-Management SM, Dr. Roche was a Clinical Psychologist at ADAPT Counseling and an Instructor in the Department of Family and Community Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine, and held additional faculty appointments at Baylor College of Medicine and Sam Houston State University.

In addition to her broad clinical focus, Dr. Roche has specialized training, experience, and interests in the treatment of families disrupted by a child's sexual abuse or sexually related behavior problems, women's issues, the evaluation and treatment of problems related to divorce and other family transitions, and treatment of both very young children and adolescents. She has conducted research in the effects of sexual and other childhood abuse, adjustment to divorce and family transitions, women's health, and substance abuse prevention. She has presented at numerous professional conferences and in community settings and has published research in peer-reviewed journals such as the Journal of Interpersonal Violence and Child Maltreatment.
